The FAQ was compiled due to the neverending stream of similar questions conserning the title. Any additions to the FAQ should be send to sam @ pcpinball . com or using ICQ to (UIN:1466199). the latest version of this faq can always be found at: www.pcpinball.com/files/faq/ft1faq.txt - - - - - - - - - - - 0 * What's so great/special about Space Cadet? 1 * What is Space Cadet / Full Tilt! 2 * Where can I download Space Cadet? 3 * Are there any cheats for Space Cadet / Full Tilt! ? 4 * How do I install Space Cadet from the Microsoft PLUS! cd for Win95 on Win98? 5 * Is there a rulesheet for Space Cadet? - - - - - - - - - - - 0 * What's so great/special about Space Cadet? In my opinion, nothing... There's a review of it at: http://www.pcpinball.com/reviews/english/sims/full_tilt.html Check the below url for a screenshot of the table: http://www.pcpinball.com/cgi-bin/imgshow/imgshow.cgi?img=full_tilt-space_cadet&title=Space+Cadet&type=1 1 * What is Space Cadet / Full Tilt! Yes, Space Cadet is that Win95 Pinball. These are all the alias I know for this pinball table (note: TABLE): Space Cadet (actual table name) 3D Pinball (no idea where this comes from) The Win95 Pinball (self explainatory, but faulty as there is dozens of pinballs for win95) Space Cadet is the pinball table that came with Microsoft PLUS! for win95, sometimes it is also refered to as the "Win95 Pinball". Space Cadet is also one of the tables featured in the pinball package "Full Tilt!". Full Tilt! (1) was released by MAXIS (for PC and MAC) and includes, besides Space Cadet, two other tables, you can find a review of the pinball at: http://www.pcpinball.com/reviews/ There is also a sequel to Full Tilt!, called Full Tilt! 2 (!!). 2 * Where can I download Space Cadet? The table is available for download on a lot of locations oftenly under the name Full Tilt!. Full Tilt! is a pinball package released by MAXIS which includes three tables similar to Space Cadet (one is Space Cadet) in layout, physics etc. So if you once had the pinball game Space Cadet installed on your computer and for some reason lost it, you can download it for FREE from all over the net, be on the lookout for a demo for the pinball game "Full Tilt!", this demo of "Full Tilt!" includes one fully functional table, namely Space Cadet. Ok, it appears there is one limitation in the demo, you only get to play one ball and only one player is allowed. Originally I think the fully functional space cadet table itself was released as a demo for the pinball, I might be wrong though. Anyhow it appears that only the one-ball limited demo of Full Tilt! is all you can download of Space Cadet. Check, http://www.pcpinball.com/files/ , for download links to the demo, if I know of a working link to the demo I will put it up there, if there is no working link to the demo there I don't know where you can get it, sorry. or more specifically, you can go to the below url for links to the ft1 pc demo: http://www.pcpinball.com/files/demos/pc/fullt1d.html You can also try this link directly which goes to a 1-ball limited demo of space cadet: ftp://zdftp.zdnet.com/pub/private/sWlIB/games/action_games/fltilt.zip Someone posted this link to space cadet, this version of space cadet is fully functional (I think), I belive it is legal (that is, it is a demo of Full Tilt! featuring a fully functional Space Cadet table), well I'll give away the link here whichever: http://www.geocities.com/CollegePark/Club/6442/Games/spacecadet.html If the link doesn't work I don't know where else you can download a fully working version of the Space Cadet table, so please don't ask... 3 * Are there any cheats for Space Cadet / Full Tilt! ? No, but if you look around (adrenalinevault, gamesdomain, etc) you might find a trainer for the table which will give you unlimited balls or something similar. There's one trainer you can download from gamespot/zdnet, I don't recommend using it, I give no guarantees for its working (haven't tried it), but supposedly it gives you unlimited balls or something like that. excerpt from readme in ftpedit.zip: "FTPBEdit was created for those of you who don't think 3 balls is quite enough. This program will work with all 3 tables in Full Tilt! 3d Pinball, and the Space Cadet Table that comes with the Microsoft Plus! Pack. The program allows you to set the number of balls the table allows you to play." Download it from: http://perl.gamespot.com/perl/download?/puzzle/fulltilt/ftpbedit.zip (~1MB) I don't know if it works with the ft1! demo download. 4 * How do I install Space Cadet from the Microsoft PLUS! for Win95 on Win98? http://www.burnhamdev.com/windows.htm Let The Pinball Game Begin!: Want to install 3D Pinball (part of MS Plus! for Windows 95) on your Windows 98 system? Assuming your CD-ROM drive is D, insert the Windows 98 installation CD in your CD-ROM drive, navigate your way to the tools\mtsutil folder, and copy the file pinball.inf to your hard drive (anywhere you want). Remove the Windows 98 installation CD and insert the Plus! for Windows 95 CD. (If necessary, click Cancel to close the dialog box stating that Plus! cannot be removed.) Right-mouse-click pinball.inf (now on your hard drive) and select Install. Start, Programs, Accessories, Games, Space Cadet Table. Cool! Note: If you're installing pinball from Plus! floppy disks or from a CD-ROM drive other than D, you'll need to edit pinball.inf before selecting the Install command. After you've copied pinball.inf from the Windows 98 CD to your hard drive and then inserted the Plus! CD or floppy disk: Right-mouse-click pinball.inf (on your hard drive), select Properties, deselect Read-only, and click OK. Open pinball.inf using Notepad, and under [Version], replace the letter D in the line: layoutfile = d:\pluslayt.inf with your CD-ROM drive letter or floppy drive (depending on the location of the Plus! files). So for example, if your CD-ROM drive letter is G, this line would now read: layoutfile = g:\pluslayt.inf Save your changes, close Notepad, and reattach the read-only attribute to pinball.inf. Now you're ready to proceed with the installation. Right-mouse-click pinball.inf and select Install. (Click OK if asked to insert the Plus! for Windows 95 CD-ROM.) You'll now see a dialog box telling you the font.dat file can't be found. Type your CD-ROM or floppy drive letter, then click OK. Your pinball game is back. The help file includes a quite detailed description of the table. I'm not sure if the demo includes the help file. The link in the answer to "Question 2" which goes to a fully working demo of the Space Cadet table includes the help file though (I think). [EOF]
