Subject: 5 day wait from Amazon.com. My impressions of FJ:Full Version
I live in Silicon Valley in good ol' sunny California. I ordered Pro Pinball :Fantastic Journey last Tuesday from Amazon.com and it was sitting at my mailbox at work on Monday morning (it actually came in on Saturday, but my workplace is closed on weekends).I own Big Race USA as well as TimeShock! as well. Unfortunately I have to say that Fantastic Journey is my *least* favorite. For starters, there is *no* printed manual- it's only in .pdf format on the CD itself. Second, as other people have mentioned, there are only two flippers- no upper left or right flippers. Third: This is by far the most difficult table of the three Pro Pinball tables that I've played. Don't get me wrong, I still like it, and I think it is worth $19.99, but it isn't as good as Big Race USA or my all time favorite, TimeShock!. And the music is a little weird for my tastes... Timeshock! came with two cool glossy manuals; a technical manual (installation instructions, etc.) and a *full color* operators manual. Excellent attention to detail! Big Race USA came with a manual, but it was small (about the size of a CD cover, but thick) and black and white. Fantastic Journey only came with the cd, case, and generic warranty info from Interplay. I guess pinball games aren't very popular, although I can't imagine why. Heck, I was seriously thinking about buying a real one (like Addams Family) from e-bay, until I did some research and found out how much upkeep and maintenance a real pinball machine needs. In my opinon, the Pro Pinball series is the best out there and unless you buy a real pin, you can't get better than this, regardless of which Pro Pinball title you get. From a newly converted "pinhead", Marcel
