WildSnake Software is a company founded by two of the developers who worked on Microsoft Pinball Arcade. They have since that spend time on developing a new (and may I unobjectively add, a vastly improved) pinball engine. The first title in their pinball series WildSnake Pinball has recently been released and is titled WildSnake Pinball: Soccer ***** (standing for Soccer Stars). They are currently planning two new titles in their pinball series (no info yet available).

WildSnake Pinball: Soccer ***** is a head-to-head pinball, meaning two players play the table simultaneously. Unlike the BRUSA head-to-head mode both players play on the same physical (or virtual) table!! One player on each side of the table! The developers say the idea for this table came when they heard about the real pinball table Selen Cup by Elettrocoin (the question, wheter it could be recreated had been brought up at the VPForums). They decided to attempt to create a simulation in which you also play head-to-head against an opponent (i.e. not a emulation of Selen Cup, but something similar) and found the simulation to be very addictive once you added good computer opponents.

While Selen Cup is a electromechanical table, Soccer ***** features a DMD, which I guess qualifies it as a Solid State pinball? A demo (one round against the computer, or timelimited play against a human opponent) can be downloaded from their site, the full version can be registered online through their site for $19.95.
